i found the staff to be friendly and approachable. the room and public areas were very clean and tidy which i really appreciate. the large car park made parking convenient. the food and drinks available were perfectly adequate for my needs.

The hotel facilities were excellent. I enjoyed the TV, reliable WiFi. tea and coffee making facilities in my room. I noticed an iron and hair dryer were available but I didn't use them. I appreciated the historical plaque that shows the building's origin as an army Officers' Mess. The exterior is definitely from the 1930s, very lovely!
I noticed the double beds are somewhat small.

breakfasts were excellent with nice quality ingredients. the buffet style full English was lovely. parking was easy and plentiful, a reassuring factor after a long journey. staff members were friendly and approachable. the reception service was helpful and efficient.
i found a musty smell in the bathroom . it seemed to originate from the shower area. i hope maintenance addresses it promptly.
